Welcome
Hello, welcome to my site. I hope you like some of the images I have taken over the last year or so.
I've had a keen interest in film photography since the seventies and eighties, I moved over to digital in 2005 when my wife and I treated ourselves to a Canon Ixus 500. I went on to buy a DSLR another Canon, this time an EOS D400 and added one or two lenses, filters and a good sturdy tripod.
Still learning, and hopefully improving. The shots on the site are mostly from our home in Cornwall, and the Isle of Skye where I spent a couple of weeks this August 08. The sun actually shone for us up there, while back home in Cornwall they were having the worst summer for years. Oh well! Enjoy.
In 2008 I completed the DSLR Skills course sponsored by Practical Photography Magazine, and last year so far have completed a basic and an Intermediate Digital Photography Module in Cornwall college at Saltash.
My Current camera is a Canon EOS 50D, which I am well used to now after nearly a year in use, lenses include a couple of Sigmas', an extreme wide angle lens, and a macro lens which doubles as a very useful portrait lens. I also have a one size fits all lens in a Canon 18-200 mm, this spends most of its life on my camera and is useful in a loads of situations. I have done some portrait work for friends locally and also competed my first wedding in Feb 2010, that was hard work!! I found out why wedding photographers need two camera bodies, its really hard to do with only one. I will carry on with more landscapes and I really enjoyed the portrait work so will be hopefully doing more of that.
